First Haircut

Still having formatting issues with the blog, so I'll just post all of my commentary up here.

Today we took Danica for her very first haircut. It went about as well as I expected it to. She started crying the moment I mentioned getting a haircut this morning. But, she was starting to look pretty shaggy, so it had to happen. We took her to a place that specializes in kids' cuts, thinking that would help. It probably didn't make much of a difference. She screamed through most of the 5-minute cut, despite the ring pop I tried to bribe her with. On the bright side, she managed to keep her head quite still the whole time. My personal favorite photo is the third one - I love the look of sheer terror on her face!

However, as soon as she was done and out of the chair, Danica started jabbering away with the stylist like she was her best friend. They give the kids a special card that they put in a machine for a surprise at the end of the visit. Danica was thrilled to have a new rubber ducky to add to her collection.

Wesley came along for moral support and got his hair cut, too. As it turned out, though, Danica was all done with her cut before he started his. So, we just watched, then had lunch together to celebrate the momentous occasion. I think we'll try getting her hair cut again when she's about six. Maybe.
