Happy Birthday, Jake!

Jake celebrated his 11th birthday this week. Given his love of baseball, it was only natural that his his birthday party was held at the Nashville Sounds game. We all spent a beautiful evening enjoying hot dogs and cake and taking in our first minor league baseball game.

Hanging out before the game

Jake's cake

"Happy birthday to you, ..."

Danica's love affair with frosting continues.

Her first attempt at drinking soda straight from the can - not entirely successful, but not a huge mess, either.

Jake and his friends watch the game.

They were putting colored streaks in people's hair in exchange for a small donation to the children's hospital. Caroline got a few.

Trinity got more than a few.

Elijah outdid everyone, though.

After watching all of the big kids, Danica had to get a few, too.

Apparently she was feeling rather patriotic, since she requested blue, red, and white streaks.

She loves her new look. Don't know what we're going to tell her when they wash out in the bath tonight, though!

She was such a cute client that they stylist wanted to have her picture taken with her. You can look for Danica in a future Great Clips ad :).

After the game, kids are invited onto the field to run the bases. Naturally, Danica wanted to participate, too. The one rule was to stay off the grass. So, naturally, that's where Danica headed as soon as she got down there. Fortunately Mommy was there to snatch her up and put her back on the track again.

She figured it out after that, though, and made it around the rest of the way by herself (ok, she held Mommy's hand a lot of the way, but she eventually went by herself).

Meanwhile, two goofballs danced in the stands. :)

Definitely a fun night. Happy birthday, Jake, and thanks for letting us come celebrate with you!
