We had a super busy week, full of exciting events, so I'm going to attempt to combine them all into one blog post. Mind you, these are only the events that we managed to photograph. There were still others (a Cinco de Mayo party, a park trip, cicada hunting,...). Like I said, busy week!!
Tie-Dye Extravaganza

Early in the week, we went to a tie-dyeing playdate. Most people aren't brave (or crazy) enough to attempt tie-dyeing with a bunch of toddlers, but fortunately, I have fun, creative friends. I didn't manage to photograph the process, but here Danica is, modeling her finished product. She loves her new shirt!
The Zoo
On Tuesday, we headed to the zoo with Aunt Jen & Cousin Caroline. Here the girls are checking out the meerkats. I was especially impressed that Danica recognized them from our last visit (and remembered that they were called "meerkats")!
Watching the iguanas

Jen brought the stroller for Caroline, but Danica ended up being the one who wanted to ride in it, while Caroline pushed. That would probably explain why Caroline took a three-hour nap that afternoon and Danica didn't sleep at all.
The elephants are always Danica's favorite.
Ice Cream Social

Later that same day, we went to the park with some friends for an ice cream social. Danica is starting to climb like a big kid.

This was the first time Danica wanted to try eating ice cream from a cone.

I'm pretty sure she liked it.
Beach Party
Friday was the annual Barfield Beach Party. This was the second year that we went. It was especially nice this year because the weather was gorgeous. Earlier in the day there was rain, so that kept some of the crowds away - another bonus!
Danica really enjoyed the sand this year.

We met up with Danica's friend Noah again this year. These two sure look a lot bigger this time around!

Danica loved the music, too. She was especially excited when she got to do the Chicken Dance.
Take Me Out to the Ballgame
Danica and Mommy went out to watch Jake play baseball today. Danica wanted to hold hands with Caroline (and Caroline obliged).

I'll leave you with my favorite Danica anecdote of the week:
The other day we were all listening and singing along to a Newsboys song that says, "All God's children singing, 'Glory, glory, hallelujah, He reigns.'" We stopped long enough to listen to what Danica was singing. Instead of "Glory, glory, hallelujah," she was singing, "Guacamole, how ya doin'." She waves during the "How ya doin'" part, too. Such a friendly girl!

Danica does not lead a dull life! Whew! I'm tired just reading about it!
That is so cute - she shows a lot of intelligence, doesn't she? The guacamole song is the best, yet!!! Reminds me of my friend, years and years ago, her name was Davanna and we were about 7 and 8. Davanna would always pray for the "missing cherries in the corn fields". (Missionaries in the foreign fields)
