May 2013

May was a crazy month with lots of end-of-the-year activities to keep us on our toes.  It was busy, but what a great month!  Here are a few of our favorite May events:

We decided to go to Patterson Pool to get a jumpstart on swimming season.  It turns out that Hannah is quite the little fish and couldn't get enough of the water.

Strawberry picking in Wartrace.  Always one of our favorite days of the year, we were not disappointed.

Berry picking is never complete without a strawberry honey pop from the farm store!

Some of our MOMS Club friends who came with us

Feeding hay to the cows

End of the year performance at school.  What a great year in the Zoo Crew!

Each pair of kids had a letter and corresponding memory verse.  Danica's line was "C...'Children, obey your parents.'"

The program was followed by donuts in the classroom.

We attended the annual Barfield Beach Party.  We've gone every year since we've lived here and always had so much fun.  The Parks & Rec Dept. takes all the sand that they are going to use to replenish the baseball tracks and piles it in a parking lot.  Add a DJ and some sand toys, and we've got a party.  This was Hannah's first sand experience, and she loved it!

Danica enjoyed dancing with friends.

She entered the hula contest for the second year in a row...

...and successfully defended her title!  Barfield Beach Hula Champ, two years running!

After two long years of hard work, we got to celebrate Daddy's graduation from MTSU with his masters degree!  Danica donned her fanciest dress and was so excited to attend the special ceremony.  She was so proud of her daddy!

There's Danny (posing in front of the green screen)!

Gov. Haslam gives the commencement address.

The graduate!

And, future graduate???

Afterwards we celebrated with cupcakes that Danica picked out - MTSU blue!

Danica took swimming lessons for the first time this summer.  She loved them and is begging for more!

She was the only girl in a class full of boys, but she didn't seem to notice.

She practiced her new skills at home in the baby pool.

And, we harvested our very first produce grown in our own garden!  Danica enjoys the very first spinach of the season.

Hannah has been promoted to the big bathtub and loves it. The girls have so much fun playing in the tub together.
