April 2003

April was a busy month, full of beautiful spring weather and lots of fun adventures.  Here are (more than a few) highlights from the month:

Danica all dressed up and ready to "travel."  Not quite sure where she's headed!

We introduced Hannah to the wagon this month.  It was a big hit, and Danica loves being able to cruise the neighborhood with her little sis.

Just chillaxin'!

Danica and Daddy had another mini-campout over spring break.  They didn't even attempt to make it all night this time, though!

We found a day with nice weather to head to the zoo.  Danica loves looking at the meerkats with the telescope.

The meerkats were a hit with Hannah, too!

Sisters at the watering hole

Danica's current obsession with all things Lion King (maybe that explains the fascination with meerkats, too) led her to choose a lion cub to ride on on the carousel.

The bouncy bridge at the flamingo lagoon is always fun.

Wesley and his mom and sister met up with us for a little while, too.

When we came home, we surprised Danica with her very first big kid bike (a hand-me-down from her good friend Meridian).  She was ecstatic!

It didn't take long for her to start cruising the neighborhood!

Mommy and Danica built a raised vegetable garden, and Danica crowned herself Queen of the Dirt.

Hannah supervised the planting.

Sweet girl is getting so big!

A recent trip to Kids' Castle

Danica's been spending lots of time in her clubhouse on these beautiful spring days.

Her friends enjoyed her play set at a recent play date.  At one point, there were six kids playing on there at the same time, and nothing broke or even wobbled.  Mommy's feeling pretty proud of her construction skills!

Sweet Hannah is now nine months old.

Danica's class went on a field trip to the Murfreesboro airport.  Danica enjoyed being a pilot!

It was such a windy day. The kids were just trying not to blow away!!

A recent trip to the "jumping place."

I took the girls to Adventures in Agriculture again this year to learn more about Tennessee farm life.  We enjoyed a hayride.

Danica got to hop in a life flight helicopter.

She practiced milking a cow.

After gathering her crops, she took them to the farmers market and sold them.

Lots of different types of grains to play in

Grandma helped Danica with her very first sewing project.

Her finished project.  She was so proud of it that she even took it to school to cuddle with at nap time.

We went to the Earth Day festival, which had to be moved inside due to weather.  We didn't take too many pictures, but we had a great time!

And, finally, at the end of the month, Grandma Carolyn closed on her new house.  We're looking forward to having her so close by!  In the meantime, we're having fun keeping an eye on it for her and plotting our next adventures together.
