We had a blast at Meridian's Campfire Birthday Party. The theme was quite timely since Danica has been so interested in camping lately. She was practically giddy with excitement in the days leading up to the party. The party was out at the Wilderness Station. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire, which was an exciting first for Danica. The kids got glow bracelets and were treated to storytime in the dark, complete with stars projected on the ceiling. Then, we had a visit from a real screech owl! Next was a pinata (another first for Danica). We ended the evening with a night hike, led by Meridian's mommy, where we learned to call owls (and even got some owl responses in return). What a night! Danica was calling owls in the car the whole way home and took us on a stroll down the street with her new flashlight. Happy birthday, Meridian! We're so glad we got to celebrate turning three with you!
