A Visit to the Murfreesboro Airport

Today our MOMS Club took a field trip to the Murfreesboro Airport. It's just a couple of miles from our house, but we had never been there before. It was a really fun trip!

Danica and the group, hanging out on the tarmac

Danica and Wesley, best buds

Danica in front of part of the MTSU fleet. For those of you who didn't know, MTSU has a pretty well-respected aeronautics program.

They have an old 727 that students work on to learn airplane mechanics. They don't fly it anymore, though. Danica liked the landing gear.

Inside the plane, Danica looks out the door over the wing.

The plane was originally part of the Eastern Airlines fleet, then owned by FedEx, so it's set up as a cargo plane.

A couple of old first class seats, complete with a tv monitor

In the cockpit, checking out the pilot's seat

This is when she decided she didn't like the cockpit anymore. Fortunately, Wesley was a very capable co-pilot :).

Checking out the wings on one of the smaller planes. I figure if my two-year-old is tall enough to reach the wings, it is too small for me to want to fly in it!

"Look, Mom, a plane!"
