Thanksgivukkah Weekend Fun

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating Thanksgivukkah in St. Louis with Pops and Bubbie.  For those of you unaware of the significance of this holiday, this year, the first day of Hanukkah coincided with Thanksgiving Day, thus creating the holiday known as "Thanksgivukkah."  The next time this will happen is in another 70,000 years or so, so we figured we had better celebrate it right!  Many of the dinner guests were from Hawaii, so we had a Thanksgivukkah luau, attempting to include dishes and traditions from all three cultures.

We took our first trip to the Magic House, St. Louis's Children's Museum.  The girls loved it!  Here, Danica attempts to make a little music.

There was a temporary exhibit on football that Pops and Daddy found especially interesting.

She might need to grow another couple of inches before she's ready for the NFL.

Danica encases herself in a bubble.

Hannah, our little lefty, loved the chalkboard.

Danica begins her future career as a pediatrician.  She bathed, measured, weighed, fed, changed, and soothed a few babies.

Hannah loved this part, too!

On Saturday, we headed out to Forest Park and Daddy, Bubbie, and Danica gave ice skating a shot.  Danica's been rollerskating twice, but this was her first time on ice.  It was, not surprisingly, a big success.

This is how Hannah spent most of the morning.

After we were done skating, Danica decided she wanted to hold Faith's leash.  This was huge, since Danica has always had an inexplicable fear of dogs.  Faith is pretty much the world's sweetest dog, though, and their walk went well.

After the walk, Danica even decided that she was ready to pet Faith.  A HUGE step!  In fact, Faith is going to come visit us with Pops and Bubbie in a few weeks, and Danica is truly excited.  Guess our little girl is starting to grow up!
