August 2013

And, here's a little sampling of what we were up to in August...

We had Hannah's baby dedication at church.  She is such a special blessing in our lives, and we feel honored that God chose us to be her parents.  We don't take that responsibility lightly, and we enjoyed having a chance to publicly celebrate her and share our desire to raise her according to God's Word,

Grandma, Jen, Jake, Elijah, and Caroline all came to the ceremony.  It's nice to have them all close enough to be able to share special times like these.

Danica and Wesley, playing in a box.

Our sleeping sweetheart

Hannah discovered and LOVES the tunnel and play tent in Danica's room.  She loves to go in there and just hang out.  If ever it gets too quiet and I start to wonder where Hannah is, this is the first place I look.

We had a beautiful, almost fall-like day, so we grabbed Grandma and headed for the zoo.

Grandma fed the lorikeets. Danica hadn't been in the lorikeet exhibit in a long time, and I don't think she'll be returning any time soon.  The poor thing, never a fan of being in close proximity to animals, was in tears, claiming the noise was just too much for her.  We made a quick exit and waited for Grandma outside, where it was a bit safer.

These lorikeets were more Danica's speed.

Working up the courage to brush a goat.

Whenever our schedules and the weather permit, we like to go for a stroll around the neighborhood after dinner.  Sometimes Danica rides her bike, sometimes she rides in the wagon with Hannah, sometimes she rides Daddy's skateboard, and sometimes she opts for a "soccer ball walk."

Fresh from the bath

Game Day!  Ready to watch the UCLA season opener (on tv)!  We have yet to see another UCLA flag in Murfreesboro, but we do our best to represent our roots anyway.
