Fall Break is this week, so Danny came up with the ultimate staycation idea: Daddy and Danica would camp together in the backyard! Danica was absolutely giddy with anticipation. Leading up to the campout, she spent all day in the tent, asking how much longer it would be until dark.
Danica helped Daddy set up the tent.
By dinner time, it was starting to drizzle, so we skipped the campfire and had our hot dog feast inside, followed by roasting marshmallows over a candle.

Yes, that is an extension cord running into the tent. How else are you supposed to inflate your aerobed, power your electric light, or keep your laptop charged?
All settled in for the night, watching the Smurfs on Daddy's laptop. It was a cold, rainy night. They managed to stay in the tent until 3:15am when they both agreed, in Danica's words, "This isn't funner anymore," and headed back in to their warm beds. Danica had a great time, though, and is ready to try it again. She says she wants to live in the tent forever.
