After months of planning, the new Kids' Castle playground is finally open! Jessica was on the committee that reviewed the proposals and selected the new design. It was so much fun to see the kids out there enjoying themselves after so many months of planning. Thanks to all of our friends and relatives who watched Danica while Mommy went to all of those meetings! Here's to many years of playground fun for Danica, her little sister, and all the children of Murfreesboro!
At the entrance, waiting for the ribbon cutting ceremony
The first thing she wanted to try was the swing. I'm so glad we have one park with swings!
Danica and some of the other committee members' children were asked to pose for a photo shoot for the playground company's catalog.
Danica and Meridian enjoy some snow cones.
Jessica even got in on the action and rode the grasshopper with Danica.
Getting ready to go down the slide
Yes, even at eight months pregnant, Jessica was persuaded to take Danica down the "big twisty slide" (there are actually several others that are much bigger, but this was "the big one," as far as Danica was concerned).
Danica and Wesley check out the swings together...
...and ride on the grasshopper.
They took turns spinning each other in the spinner seat.
And, a couple of pictures of the rest of the playground.
The kids all had a great time. It's so nice to live in a community that is willing to invest in children and families, and it was fun to get to play a small part in bringing this whole thing together.
