Pioneer Days

Today we met the cousins for Pioneer Days at Cannonsburgh. We saw all of the old buildings - schoolhouse, doctor's office, phone company... There were also people demonstrating weaving, spinning, blacksmithing, and all sorts of other crafts. We learned a lot and can't wait to go back next year!

Caroline watches the potter make a heart-shaped pot.

Elijah helps make the bottom of the heart...

...and Jake helps make the top.

Looks a lot like Journey to Bethlehem at Journey of Faith during Christmas, where so many historic skills are demonstrated. Fun times. Don't you wish we could make our own soap? The pottery looks exquisite, very nice. Great learning experience!!!

Love these kind of family activities! Looks like you had a wonderful time. Danica is adorable as always!

BTW, Amelia finally decided she likes baths after all. Silly girl!
